I am trying to achieve peeling wallpaper effects in Substance Designer. I have shared my basic setup where I have a graph of floral pattern, paper texture, and concrete plaster. I want to have concrete material underneath my wallpaper, but I couldn't achieve that. Below I shared my setup. In the marked area, I am supposed…
Hey Jim looking far better then it did the first time you posted it which is great. Right now a lot of your textures are overly grungy when there is no point in them being so. Remeber to make something look worn and used you dont need a ton of dirt added too it. That just makes things look like there in some super ghetto…
I like the metal trim and concrete material. What I don't like is those round small shapes in the middle of concrete trim. Also there seems to be some lightmap problems in the concrete trim. But like I said, the concrete material itself is really good.
I think I understand the confusion, currently capone your folders are setup outside of the normal Substance Painter folder structure. If you want your subfolders ie. Concrete, ceramic, fabric they need to be within the relevant folder within painters file structure. So putting Concrete outside of materials will not result…
Both your rocks and your concrete look way too smooth. It's a common problem with ZBrush that a lot of the tools end up being really blobby/organic, and you've got to be careful to keep the harder lines. Remember, concrete has larger stones in it. Don't be afraid to make it chunky. Yours looks like it's got minor skin…
Hey, this may be a bit late but thought I'd suggest. Originally you said you wanted those pillars to be stone, but I'm not sure where the I beam comes into play then, as stone pillars would just be solid stone. Now it might be concrete pillars, if that is the case I suggest finding more reference photos of rubble and…
I think a big problem, too, is that the concrete is perfectly flat. Right now there are only 2 levels to this texture, the concrete and the mud. This texture would become far more interesting if you had some hunks of concrete pushed further in or tilted. Along with that, give some hunks of concrete a slightly different…
pretty cool work. The bridge on the last screen is my fav because of nice storytelling elemnt with the hole going across the bringe right into the pavement ;) I just find that most of architecture textures (roads, walls etc) are bit too uniform. That makes kinda clean impression. i knwo they got dirt and grunge but since…
Trying to create a damaged concrete decal. I want to get a workflow working, I'm planning to do something bigger using this all over. The HP is sculpted with wrap mode 2. I'm thinking of doing a small video tutorial on this. There's a lot of techniques learned from PC that I use to sculpt this.. I think I should give the…
Thanks a lot for the detailed feedback, I really appreciate it. @Peyd3d =) You’re absolutely right about the shading issues. I’ve gone over the meshes several times and addressed a number of those areas already. Some of the round and beveled assets were causing issues, so I’ve increased the geometry there to improve the…
