Small Update on my progress. Haven't been able to get much work done on this due to studies but hopefully i can get this done Been studying a lot of anatomy but it still feels awkward, any comments or critiques would be appreciated.
If you want a quick start into anatomy that work pretty well, buy the rafael grassetti's gumroad lesson. It's really really great, and the video last for about 20-30min. Just watch em everyday and try to get better, and it'll be ! gl !
sure thing, cheers for input fwiw, his hands were intended to be overlarge as in his morrowind appearance. any advice on keeping the overlarge hands without it looking wrong? some of the other anatomy (like around his neck) is also exaggerated
Really cool stuff. I can't recommend life drawing and anatomy studies enough if you do 2D, even 3D, animation; Montreal is a big city, I'm sure there are groups that meet regularly that you can join for a cheap rate.
@3dcwcurto I have the image, will let you the know link once i find the link for them. May be the width and thickness is off. Will have a look on them. Thanks again man. As you say need to get a good understanding of the anatomy.
Been cramming anatomy the past week. I feel like an idiot with what I was saying before and all the time I wasted on the wrong things. Did a few busts last couple days taking from what I've learned.
Ahh yeah I will be sure to sort that out, thanks again :) But yeah heres last weeks progress. Got cracking with the bartender character. So got a few more concepts and a quick first pass on the anatomy WIP. Outfit_ideas_01; Outfit_ideas_02; First_pass_anatomy;
Decided to join in on this one since I bailed on the last challenge. I chose the pumpkin guy but went ahead and practiced some base anatomy forms before getting into the actual concept. Here is what I have, all critique is appreciated!
Aside from your material definitions, your anatomy, especially the face, has opportunities for improvement. I suggest doing a master study of a sculptor, like Michaelangelo, and really take figure out what the master's are thinking when doing their sculpture.
Added Nunu now and changed the anatomy on the shoulders to fit the original model and make him look more imposing. Still changing the fur constantly to make the low poly less complicated. Here is a close up and front back and side view.
