Hey-yall. Recently our studio has be cranking on particle fx- and a big part of that has been making fx sheets. Something that would help out our mipping greatly is the ability to pad the pixels on the alpha mapped edges with pixels of the same color. anyone know anything?

Im trying to put a dart into the side of an object (and have creased its edges). However, when I subdivide I get pinching (Im assuming because Ive got that try there). would somebody be able to show how i should create this kind of feature? many thanks Nick

Hello! I used a high poly and a low poly model and exported them both from maya into xnormal to get a normal and an AO, and got this. Anyone know how to get rid of the black edges?
Silhouette is good, but I feel like you should add more edges to smooth out the edgy/blockiness not only for your silhouettes benefit, but also so that it can sub-d that much easier.
I had a similar issue happen as well. I made all the 3D models in max (with smoothing groups setup etc) and gave it to a animator friend who rigged it up in maya. He put the full model with no soft edges and it was really bad.I then took his file and Put a soft/hard edge on top of his rig and then exported it out...got…
