Hey guys. I believe this is my first post here, I made this account years ago and well...never used it. Huge shame on my part. Over the years I've let my art slack and I'm seriously regretting it. So, long and pathetic story short, I'm here to be a regular poster and show everyone my work as it progresses. The last program…
Ah, cool! Seeing the concept with the scale ref, it's larger than I thought. I think the issue with the wall looking carved is due to the stones having very pointy/sharp corners that fit perfectly to each other and the wall surface is quite even, no stone protruding more than others. I would consider building the wall from…
Nicee gumbata! Though I would think about adding the lighter stone white colour sven has into the blade. The differences in the blade stone and the hilt stone can be highlighted better with a slight value change :)
I think the texture style of the armor doesn´t fit the style of the stone. The armor is cartoony like and the stone looks semi-realistic. I really like the looking of the stone, i hope you are going for that approach :)
Hey Guys, Thanks for the continuing interest in my limping project here. For the previous shots, yes everything was basically a photo layed into photoshop to just get a general feel for the materials comprising the temple itself. Kevin Johnstone said the cut, rough rocks would work for Crom, so I went with that. As of…
Hey this is lookign pretty good and it's really faithful to the concept which is awesome. A couple crits though: The wood is looking pretty flat still, the concept has some really nice red tones and I think you could push that a bit further. The blue parts have a bit more pink in the concept that you should try to add in…
Those bakes came through well. You could tone down the spec a bit. Stone (especially worn) wouldn't really reflect much light, unless its perfectly smooth (like a fresh slab of marble) Also, your textures could do a little more to work with the normals. The arch is the best example of this. (the fact that its flipped from…
There is a nice advice in MAXScript FAQ: Cache frequently used functions and objects but it doesn't work for me (at all). Why? Script example: (16000 iteration in for loop) startTime = timeStamp() firstSelectedBaseobject = selection[1].baseobject edgesBetweenMatIDs = #() edgesNumber = polyOp.getNumEdges…
So this 3D engine I'm using(and I can't change the tech sadly) seems to use lightmaps(just simple 2D dds textures which are mapped to the second UV channel in geometry) in quite a particular way for large chunks of terrain. It seems to read the alpha channel from the lightmap and use it as a multiplier to the lighting…
I think you should think a bit more about what you're aiming for, that would give you a clearer path to follow and help us get on the same page as you. "Stone temple ruins" is too generic and you might end up with a pretty generic piece. You have mesoamerican, mediterranean, african, asian and more civilizations that made…
