Hello ladies and gents! I'm a mostly self taught 2D and 3D character artist and I have a burning sensation....to get better. ( the dots made you think something else didn't they harrharr!) I'm fairly new to the forum so if I should make any mistakes be sure to point them out. -

Acutally 110 hours of pure paradise. Just the Missus and myself. No one else. Except of course for Santa and his Reindeer & Elves that go poopoo in my yard everyear and pee on the trees & car tires. BTW Happy New Years to everyone out there, all the Members of the Polycount fun farm. -

It's pretty simple and self-explaining. But it can't really do the job on its own, you gotta use it with something else so you can rearrange the shapes and fit them better on the map. Yet for free, it rocks. Only thing is, if I had the money, I'd drop it and replace it with UVLayout. -

Welcome back! Is this based on a real tank? Or is it a custom concept? It looks like the turret is fixed in place and can’t rotate? What are you using for reference? It would help to see your primary refs. Why are modeling interior parts? What’s the desired end presentation method? Renders for a portfolio, or in-game… -

Sure, yeah I meant that I hadn't noticed anything different when viewing normal maps with the Xoliul shader in Max 2013. I even debated adding the use of the shader into my original post but didn't as I thought it would be self evident given the topic and discussion of everything else. -

Nyet! I'd disagree vehemently with Vig, Ely or Brome with regards to the lips and arms (anything else they mentioned is probably valid). The slightly anthropomorphised details give this beastie much of its charm and it would be a real shame to lose any of it in trying to make it more sensical. -
Best practices when creating assets specifically for Nanite
We've been asked to use Nanite for a project (just a blanket order to enable Nanite on every mesh that even remotely supports it). Whatever one might think of that, I need to make sure we cause as little trouble for ourselves on the asset creation side of things, and I feel like Nanite throws out most of what I know about… -

Now that's made me leak water from my face! A temporary measure could be to just randomly click 'add friend' on facebook and see what comes up, like everyone else these days my self worth is directly correlated to the number of friends I have on fb (can't....resist...the...cynicism!) -

Talent doesn't exist. At least, there have never been any proof that even hints at the existence of talent,and a ton of proof to the contrary. And yes, Mozart and Tiger Wood have put in the exact same amount of hours and deliberate practice as everyone else will do to get to that level, they just started much younger than…
