Made some bricks. It was really challenging trying to precisely offset by 256 in zbrush... I realized I could go-z the lowest subdivision over to maya and offset there, then go-z back and it fortunately updated the mesh location in zbrush. Also played around with tessellation. I'm not sure if I was getting shitty results… -

I'd put my money on it being a problem with the 3ds Max tangent basis. Try rendering the normal map in Xnormal (make sure you have export tangents and binormals unchecked on your lowpoly model, and that smoothing groups are exported on your lowpoly) and rendering the knife itself in Toolbag with tangent space set to Mikk,… -

so im wondering if there may be a way around this.. in maya i work with Z up instead of Y up, so when i bake out an object space normal map, technically my top/bottom is my front/back and vice versa. when i bring all that into ddo and use smart materials, i usually have to change any of the object space masks. would there… -

I don't use unreal engine myself but I remember seeing something on eat3d about swizzle settings in xnormal. the video says that most programs use the default of X+ Y+ Z+ , but unreal uses X+ Y- Z+ the guy talks about it at 11:15 in the video, you can see it on eat3d since its one of their free tutorials… -
Fixing Mixamo orientation
Apparently, Mixamo uses uses Y-Up, -Z forward. And there's no way to change it. If my character does not match that orientation, the auto-rigger doesn't even work. Quack: I used lights and I flipped the green channel (Xnormal bakes in x+z+y-) and Maya is supposed to have x+y+z+ =) . I Used Averaged Projection (If i got EQ correct, that means by using the cage in xnormal, is just as using average projection).
