Hello Everyone. So I've been recently trying to replicate this stylized metal surface detail from Michael Vicente's (Orb) Artstation. This detail is only on the cutting part of the axe, some kind of a squarish smashed shape. Michael wrote an explanation on his Artstation saying that "this is just clay brush strokes, dialed…
i am not hip to the new stuff and use what works, however if i had to try to say anything i'd like its: dislike not being able to see live previews for any and every map so some sort of live update window to see the results or get to play with results to "test" looks and experiment with things, perhaps even (if it is not…
I just played Darkwatch 2005 in PS2. I'm surprised how great this game could have been in its time. I spiraled to searching what went with the IP itself and the studio. I feel bad about what happened to the studio and the creators. This was easily another iconic Playstation IP everyone could have enjoyed today if it…
You can't make maps from polypaint if your model doesn't have uvs. Toolbag can handle a lot of polys. But without uvs and textures you are limited to the global settings for matierials for parts of the model. You can make one part to have more spec, other less but that's all. You won't make anything as good as it could be…
Forgot to post yesterday's work. MAR 03: Started first detail pass. No idea what I'm doing, so everything is being done with clay tubes brush and a little of the form brush, atm. Very tough, seems like it's a constant game of sculpt > smooth > sculpt > smooth until some of the forms come out. Today's progress: Trying to…
Can anyone help? I am wanting to import a mesh into SD and map existing materials to it based on the material IDs of the mesh. So that I have one single output with all the materials laid out like an old school flat texture for a prop? I currently have no access to Substance Painter.
Super Sculpey isnt for begginners. Start out with plasticine or an oil based clay to begin; get a medium viscosity. Or go traditional with a regular block of clay, though it can get messy. Also, think of what you are making will require a a frame or not. If you making a full character, then you need to pick up a small…
Okay I am going to say something a bit stupid sounding maybe - but the that's partly because of the thread title itself. From the title I was expecting real clay. Since you are looking for practice, why don't you grab a block of good old clay? It helps a lot in build up a personnal approach to mass and surface. I'm far for…
UPDATE: I have an update! SUBHEAD: Unexpected Pitfalls So I got sick of microslop's shit for the very last time in November of last year. I didn't post on microslop's forums that I was switching to linux, and then keep using microslop's products. I just did a buncha research about which distro would be best for me and…
I thought about adding this to the other thread going on about AI art, but I think a separate topic is more appropriate since that one looks to focus general opinions. Note - This is my interpretation of how this stuff works and I could be wrong on some stuff. Feel free to point it out. I'm not a legal expert or anything.…
