Finally got some free time to work on this guy again. I have been texturing the body and sculpting teeth, gums and tongue. I've made some changed on the coloring, specially on the hands and feet. Ive already textured the gums for him. Gonna work on retopo and painting the teeth and tongue. Almost ready for UVs and bakes.…
I was asked to show some more breakdowns. A very detailed breakdown of the diorama is on 80 level: https://80.lv/articles/paris-diorama-the-power-of-details/ The diorama was made with a combination of photogrammetry (the tree) and classical sculpting (the door and wall). Here is a look into it:
Hey All! Worked a bit on this project today. I started retopologising the arms and hands, took me maybe an hour and a half. Might come back to them at some point since I received nice feedback about their topology, but that'll be left for next time. I then tried my hands at the hat baubles, and finished all the low…
Hey, I think the branches are way too curly to be oak, and the bark is not rough enough. The leaf cards are also incredibly noticeable. I love the tree sculpt though. I would like to see a more intricate root bit at the bottom.
Hey everybody I've wanted to make a sculpt out of this concept piece by Makkon since I first saw it. So after I got his permission I worked on this for a while bouncing between multiple programs when I have the free time. Feel free to rip this one to shit since I do not want to fail not only myself but also Makkon. He…
Have some free time so like Skrupps I'm going to get some sculpting practice with the brazier. Thinking that I'll do a stylized and a realistic sculpt of it to get practice on both. For now though I've got the blockout done so I'm ready to sculpt tomorrow. :D
I had the same problems, and here are a few things that helped me it under control. Perspective. Keep in mind what the end customer will see. Step back, zoom out and realize that not everything needs to be perfect, striking a balance between good enough and perfect is often the difference between delivering the customer is…
Hey Polycount! It's been a long long time since my last update as I've been working and also just generally busy doing some travel and other shenanigans. I did do some work on this project a few months ago but never posted it, and then I lost enthusiasm some. The main thing blocking me from continuing work was that the…
This is some truly amazing work :D and some pretty sweet shading, would you mind sharing some tips on how you set up your shader tree in Modo? Do you also use Modo's sculpting tools to add the details?
I've always found your pieces incredibly difficult to discern between the hands-on artwork (meshes, texturing) to the stuff that is done in post or heavily rendered/non-real-time effects. Then there is stuff that is just so abstract its hard to follow or really appreciate beyond being 'abstract'. There is zero…
