      Joining contests works well for me. Probably doing any of the monthly challenges here on Polycount would be a good idea. I also have a hard time bringing projects to conclusion without a set deadline.

      The folio is some fragments of pencil sketches and posters put together for the local junior college's theater department. Oh, and a couple of brochures for a church at the end. It's not targeted at all. The video was meant to be for a contest that helps with tuition fwiw.

      during down time at work I usually find a contest or something to enter. It's a good time to work on portfolio stuff. Though if anyone asks your making a tutorial for the company on the Max normal mapping workflow.

      not to mention that most of the people that appear on these shows are actors. some of the people are professional reality tv actors. they appear on all the reality shows. these are not contestants they're actors paid to look pretty while eating bull penis.
