This is an asset pack created for an introductory first year university assignment. Six assets were to be made under the following constraints: Five general assets using a single 512 diffuse, under 1k tris. One hero asset using a single 2048 diffuse, under 5k tris. They must all follow a similar art style to Fable 2.…
Thanks for positive feedback guys! @GrungyStudios The roller coaster is based off the massive one at the Six Flags Theme Park in New Orleans called the Mega Zeph. I created it using modular tracks, railings, and support beams. I knew when building the environment I wanted the roller coaster to be hovering over the whole…
This is scifi modularity taken to extremes, but it should give you some idea of what's possible. An exercise in modular textures - Scifi lab UDK For actual game use generally you wouldn't use so many UV sets, and such complex shaders. This was more of a conceptual and learning exercise. But then again it led to making an…
I'm sure it can be done with a modular workflow. I would make modular pieces for the interior walls, floors and ceiling, and then a second modular kit for the exterior entrance. Or just make a unique mesh for that side of the building.
Update: I’ve made curve ceilings (and added pipes) and adjusted lighting. I have prepared the wall for a tiling texture and the supports for trim sheets. I used a texted density of 10.80 with 4k resolution. The pieces are modular, I had a thought of doing this in PCG but for the scale I’m going for it’s not worth it atm. I…
@gamedev First off, thanks for the all the cirts, I really appreciate it (wish you woulda posted earlier! haha) As for the modularity of this... the buildings are useless other than for this project. Last month when I took this class I pushed hard for modularity of my objects, I failed and the teacher said to be less…
Working on some modular assets that I intend to create for skyrim. The modular pieces will construct a Medium/Large Inn, with a nice warm feeling to it. Just focusing on the modular Hay Thatch roof. Basic layout first. http://imgur.com/a/i8Bde
Hi everyone, this is my first thread on poly count. I'm working on a modular building for one of my classes, well at least Im attempting to make the building modular and i would greatly appreciate your comments and critiques as I work my way through this. Just so you know where Im going with this. My goal is to create a…
Thanks guys :) @orangesky The walls are all unique. I kinda wanted creative freedom to push and pull each house to a unique shape when I first started. TBH it kinda killed me though. I made all the planks of wood on the buildings unique as well, as I wanted them to mold to the buildings, but looking back, I would have…
Hello, This is one of my old environments I created in the purpose of practicing modularity. Sadly the only modular asset in the scene is the wiring and the pipes. I considered this project as a failure because I failed to make the modular assets snap to the correct grid (need to turn off the grid and aligning it).
