XFormer 2.1.1 has been released. What's New - Fixed a redraw bug that temporary aligned the object to Z axis when clicking the Apply button or when dragging the confirmation dialog, and "Always Align to Z Axis" is checked.
Source uses Max Standard, X+ Y- Z+. They confuse it though by releasing source files with X+ Y+ Z+. I created a thread on the dev forum about it and I don't think they changed the released files at all.
Fixed. Old URLs will automatically redirect to the new ones. Make sure you're using real URLs. In the post you linked, the URLs were HTMLized, e.g. ...x&y=z when they should be ...x&y=z
Good so far, except maybe you;re using existing UVs? Need new flat-to-the-world UVs. Select the face model, add a UVW Map modifier, and set the Alignment to Z. May need to rotate it on Z axis, depends on the direction of your gradient map.

Thanks for looking at my sketchbook! I've been doing artwork all my life, but I've never taken the step to become truly good at it. This sketchbook is the start. My first Z-Brush project! Go easy on me. xD ANY tips will help at this point, I've only been messing around on Z-Brush for a couple days. Thanks!
I hope this is this is right sub forum for this.... Im trying to get the most realistic rendering possible. this one is with z brush and some photoshop retouching but it still looks cartoonish. Ive tryed mental ray but I cant export the mesh without z brush crashing to hell (my comp has 2gig). any help is apreciated!
Well it really depends what your goals are. I can see 3 scenarios. - High end cinematic animation. In that case you want to generate displacement maps to be applied at render time. They can be generated in Mud, in Maya, and other programs too. However the mesh receiving the disp map must be very close in silhouette to the…
As he said, The most helpful thing I've be able to use is a custom menu hot keyed to a key (z in my case). Has all my common brushes, some common materials etc. I've get all my zbrush panels close or collapsed to have as much canvas as possible, So these quick menus are a good fix for that set up. All you need to do is go…
Yeah I know about change the preference setting, but the ylaz or seneca script to drop object into the "ground" is still take Y as the up axis, therefore instead of drop to the ground along the Z axis (cryengine use Z as the up axis), the object will move to the left/right along the Y axis.
