We are looking for a talented 2D artist to conceptualize and design a set of 2D artworks which will be used as game cards. There are a total of 20 items that the artist is required to create. We are looking for the artist to come on-board and work closely with our creative team to conceptualize them (as line drawings),…
I'm sorry to hear that. But if you think your idea must be unique and something that hasn't been done at all, well, that is unrealistic. Generally speaking only few true inventions came out of nothing, and everything else is being derived from things we already know about. Even electricity was made with thunders in mind.…
Hey polycounters, I had two questions (I'm pretty new to ambient occlusion maps and optimizing by creating tris). I got a quick overview of how to do AO maps in 3DS Max (set the renderer to MR, Render to Texture, and create an AO map from there). I was curious about other techniques that you guys use to create your AO…
So for my FMP I'm making an animation of a Star Destroyer flying to a planet, now to create the space backgroung I was told by my tutor to use the paint effects in maya, now the way it paints is like the way paste comes out of a tube, I'm not sure how to create the environment with this. Does anyone know how to do this?…
I'm creating a Dragon for a University project, i'm in the process of retoping it before I start to add details. As you can see in the attachments, i'm having some issues with zRemesher, any ideas why it's creating this terrible mesh at the base of the tail?
Yes Eric, indeed the rendering time increases too much if i use multiple volumetric lights. I'll keep in mind your method, i appreciate it. Once i have used a plane to cheat the Volumetric light of the Sun(PartiVolume takes too long) but i think it was kind of childish(silly using a plane instead of real "light-volume"). I…
ookay, some of you are ready aware of it but I started a tutorial on how I put my character into doom3, calculated the normal maps with the d3 engines and such. so there we go, part 1 : setting up and creating normal maps for your model (character or not) for doom3 Introduction: Welcome in my first tutorial ever.…
Hello Polycount!, pretend you're an environment artist working on a project with a visual fidelity comparable to Bioshock Infinite for example. In other words, a sort of stylized realism aesthetic, so fairly realistic. You need to create a tileable grass texture for landscape to blend in with your grass card assets. If you…
Hi, when I import an image that has an alpha (i.e. a Cloud) to blender I can adjust the Alpha setting to create transparency. Though when I create an object and add a material to it, and try to adjust the alpha slider it just turns the object black. Anyone?
I got this toy noodle texture I wish to create but I have absolutely no Idea how to go about it. The physical properties are doable but how can I create an accurate representation of the surface in a normal map?
