started with the hair today pitily maya crashed when i tried to transfer the normals... so this is just super basic, colormap just temp and as said lost all the tweaks to the planes... but will continue tomorrow!
Anyone care to tell me how to transfer hotkeys from 2008 to 2009 on a different computer, I tried copying the userhotkeys.mel but it did not work. It appears like I have to copy 2 files to get the hotkeys working?
Closest thing I know of that Autodesk encourages is the use of Mudbox, which actually has an amazing polypainting workflow. I believe they make it quite easy to transfer meshes back and forth if both are installed.
Yes I agree on that, it does get warm afetr a short time, I only use it for transfering small sketches onto a larger surface...for the price of a projector, you can get a nice monitor.
We use a separate skingeo and copy it over after the Hero geo is final. Transfer the weights over with mGear. Its free. https://youtu.be/yqXwFWAIjKo Or use Ingos weightpainter. http://www.braverabbit.com/brsmoothweights
Add more polys to the silhouette and take them from areas like the blue strip, lose the polys on cylinders. Are you allowed normal maps as you could transfer all that detail? Keep it up :)
You need to spherize you vertex normals to get it to shade better in engine. Ive never used that scrips or worked in max. there should be a way in max to transfer a spheres vertex normals to your tree
I'll be honest, the concept kinda looks boxy and just odd overall and lacking functionality and that is being transferred into your model as well. There are also a lot of shapes that are not boxy that in the concept you have left out.
Rick, thanks again for doing this. Ror, the hand/wrist pain stuff would be a great addition. We should log some more questions once the transfer is complete, it was a good way to generate content.
