deconstruct the scene by breaking it up into modular pieces in your mind. environment artists will plot out regions over the reference image like this to help get a better approximation. -

Did start with the Largest part of the environment and made the modular containers. had some issues with lightmap UV's but I think it's okay now. -

Really good stuff there. As mention wireframes and texture flats are good to show and maybe a breakdown of a few props to show modular assets etc.
