What is your map size? Looks awfully blurry. Also 5-7k tris is about average now for a fps view weapon. Don't waste polys but don't be overly zealous about having it really low poly.
Thanks kary, yeah the weapon arm definitely needs fixing. I'll give it some attention before moving on to the painting. 'nother garish speed paint. Maybe I'll make it into another one of my shitting fantasy characters.
Definitely increase the amount of sides of the cylinder, most FPS "weapons" are around 8,000 now. That doesn't mean you have to use 8k, but you do have a lot of freedom polygon count wise to make it more round.
having the ears that far forward and up gives her a nice "gelfling" look, if thats what you're going for. The top of her head is a bit flat though. looking nice so far. Not really sure the weapons work.
Well that grip on the top right kinda makes it a two-handed weapon. High poly done (I think :) ) UVs next... FUCK. I have never had a successful bake before, hopefully this comes out well :/ .
ug the weapons are held at a weird angle and they fill up a good portion of the screen. I'm realy starting to dislike the nomal mapping look. And all games will have it for the next 3 or so years e-yaaaaa!1!1!!.
Hi! Steampunk weapon what I did for fun few days ago. Based on a concept I found on artstation. Modeled in 3ds max and zbrush. Textured in Substance Painter and rendered in Marmoset :) Here are my portfolio if you're interested: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/q9G99D Hope u like it!!
Hey guys, I know it's a very dull question overall, but when it comes to game art, what mostly sells in the UE4 market place? What people look for? Full environment? Weapons? Sci fi things? Stylized? etc etc
Hey im an aspiring game artist. Still working on Bachelors. My site can be found here - http://willtruran.com Some past works. Current Wips. man = 2538 tris (not including weapons to the right) FN Scar = 2434 tris (with scope and ammo = 3196 tris)
I recently added a new weapon/armor set to the Chivalry:Medieval Warfare Steam workshop. Any C&C would be appreciated for future models and if you would support me, I'd appreciate it :) . Definitely had some fun with this one. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=675141371
