I'm new to the Polycount forums. I'm learning UDK in my spare time and as part of a non-credit college course. I've been working on a level making tutorial for several weeks now. I haven't finished it quite yet. As I was working on how to create a flying camera, I accidentally clicked "Game View Mode" and the whole level…
So I'm trying to mirror the weighted half of the model to the other half, but the mirror mode is being an asshole. Added all the bones in the list, checked vertices, selected all of them, went to mirror mode and... pressed green to blue bones. No dice. Green to blue verts then. Nope. It won't transfer the weights. What do…
I'm bored, come visit me here in Sunny Perth. No but seriously, if anyone is headed to this hemisphere anytime soon and would like to catch up for a beer or something, I can easily be persuaded. Hell, I can even offer a bed to sleep on and I can supply the beer. Maybe I'll even lend you my car. I've been told by my boss…
My advice.. Read what chatgpt did. Use it to learn to write the code yourself and apply that to any language and environment you find yourself in. The llms are good at JavaScript and python because 90% of the code on GitHub is JavaScript or python. they fall flat pretty quick outside of that environment and fail utterly…
You guys are getting my point wrong. There are times when source code is needed. There are times when it is not. A smart programmer would determine at the start of the project what is needed, and act on that. An egotisical programmer will just say "I NEED THE SOURCE CODE NO MATTER WHAT!". Especially when it comes to indie…
For me as long as they take care in integrating it and it doesn't end up duct taped onto the final version, I don't necessarily mind if they integrate 3rd party plug-ins. If it saves time and is done right it's great! Some of my favorite plug-ins have been included in max and it's made my life easier. Of course I often…
Dark Blender: the ultimate tool for game asset creation: https://vimeo.com/151433064 Hi, i agree the name of this topic sounds weird but it is actually true, i have made a script able to generate a game asset and the textures ready to be exported to your favorite game engine in one click from your high poly. This project…
sometimes when i plug an rgb output in to a greyscale input itll automatically create a greyscale conversion node which is smaller than normal and attached directly to the input. Is there any way i can do this manually? I would like to do it for gradient maps as well. also, is there a way i can minimize nodes like that…
So yeah, when I use Pinch brush with Wrap Mode on I get a very bad result. Looks like the brush ignores Wrap and pull polys to main cursor. Does anyone know if there is an alternative pinch brush that does work with Wrap Mode?
