i have seen this being used where the alpha channel of the diffuse is being used for the specular map. Is this really as simple as making your diffuse black and white, doing a color range select then copying that into the alpha channel?? or is there another way to do this?
I have been trying to fix my brush for days now. I can't seem to stop the patchiness, no matter the intensity levels. I was wondering if anyone else had ran into the issue, I'm sure it's just my settings and it would take a sec to solve but I just can't figure it out. HELP !

Ged Thanks! Mistry10 Ok, so this is how we made it. First I create a trim mesh in 3ds Max. Then I bake the result in normal map, then I create the diffuse texture. The third part is a mix of 3 different masks. The red channel I used as a cubemap mask/spec mask. The green channel was used for emissive in order to…
