Even if its brand new some grunge build up in occluded areas goes a long way. Or where 2 pieces meet it should suggest that those pieces have some sort of influence on one another. Right now it looks a bit cgi and this is one way to mitigate that.
Familiarity should be no problem, I still shit myself when I play the avp games. As long as they make it a threat, and dont have rubbish washed out cgi as in the first AVP film, it should be scary barring other erroneous decisions.
Hey guys, right now i completed my 4th game ready ( for my novice-bsr o.c.) character. In every single piece i made i noticed always the same: i LOVE sculpting, than there comes retopo, uving, texturing. sadly these steps takes the most time. Its so frustrating to know that i have to stick with technical-art to complete…
Look at your favorite anime that feature CGI characters or whatever. In credits there are always names of companies that worked on it. Then just google that. For games I imagine that outsource studios should be credited too, you can easily find credit rolls on Youtube.

Hmmm, Polycount is kind of the wrong forum for HD/DV, I doubt many of the people here are experienced in this. I certainly am not. But you might try the Creative Cow forums or somesuch. http://forums.creativecow.net/cgi-bin/new_view_posts.cgi?forumid=162
I did some looking about because I'm interested in hosting, and some of these reviews suggest that while dreamhost are great as long as things run smoothly, they are a bit useless if something does actually go wrong: http://www.ftpplanet.com/cgi/_listreview...w.dreamhost.com
