Hey guys. First time posting on here but I am a regular viewer of the handheld thread. I was just wondering if any of you guys/gals have some suggestions for my Final Year Project at University. I am planning on creating handheld versions of current gen protagonists. For example Nathan Drake from Uncharted and Kratos from…
I don't know why i've taken so long to come to this community I know ill get some really good feedback here. I'm working on 4 characters at the same time and here they be. This first one is a Squigherder taken from EA Mythic concept art. Here is a LINK to the orginal concept. I wanted to touch the style of MMO's and go for…
Today I would like to introduce you to a tool that I've been working on that provides a completely new and unique way to build large scale worlds for games and multimedia. For a full detailed description, and video see the Kickstarter that just launched today…
Depends a lot on the sort of experience you want for the player. The core pillars of a survival game are resource management, risk assessment and the absence of a win condition. The question you need to ask yourself is whether you want the slow, creeping desperation of something like This war of mine /zomboid or the second…
This is an issue as old as time (or rather, as old as Zbrush) and AFAIK there is no fix for it, as the Zbrush FOV values do not really represent anything and you won't be able to get a real analog to a 3d viewport since their projection/rendering isn't really 3D. I only wish you had rendered it at a higher resolution and sized it down in photoshop. That way, you would have gotten better…
What im mostly unsure of is how will I approach the textures on the ground. Should I use several tillable textures and then do some vertex painting or should I bake this off as a mega texture or something? concept is mine. thanks!
What you described is imo just most common way to work there. Nobody wastes time just for sake of potential scalability you may never need. If it's not a portfolio sport my guess.

hmm I suspect it's not going to be as simple as that. What do you want the script to do exactly? I might be able to have a look for you to see what the nicest approach would be. Edit: Actually since you know that "maintainActiveChangeSelectMode" is going to get called when you do the right "click > object mode" thing, you…
