Hey Tim! Like I said, awesome that you were spurred on by our concept art to create something! It's a great being able to inspire! Thanks for the compliments on the concept art as well! You're up on our dev blog now :) http://snowcastlegames.com/fan-art/
Oh wow! that's awesome man :) i'm glad you enjoyed it here. I'm a born and raised east aucklander :D I'm living around the Botany Downs area atm. Nice start on the head, i can def see a bit of that attitude coming through

@Shrike Awesome C&C! Thanks. Will def try out your suggestions. About the font, it's called Square 721. I looked at some pictures of the old alien movies and this was the closest free font I could find! @Demogorgon Thanks man! Means a lot :)
I vote for waiting for a confirmation that they won't be changed. Again, I don't know how we could gather this information, is there any way to contact the devs about it? If we can't get any answer from them soon, Dark Seer can be a good choice.
I got a question, i heard it talked about in the gamecast dev, what exactly is GGX? whats so special about it? sounds technical and better than blinn-phong (is that its alternative) Can't really find an ez-mode article discussing ggx :P
Blender does have referencing. It's done by linking libraries into your work scene, with a "library" being another .blend file(s). Read tip #11: http://www.creativebloq.com/13-blender-tips-pros-7113110 https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/dev/data_system/linked_libraries.html
Yeah those larger tread patterns should def be geo and not just normals.... Would add so much more detail to this and look 100x better. Also not quite sure how the plow attachments going into the front rims would work... Looks a bit odd...
Yeah of course, I'm just saying in my point of view I wouldn't mind seeing a person trying out different things. Most things art-related skills are transferable. And yes Tor Frick has an awesome portfolio and skills, def a favorite of mine.
Cheers Glyn! It's likely that Alien Hominid used a similar method, as it started out life as a flash game on Newgrounds in the first place. Obviously the dev's are comfortable with Flash, so it makes sense. Looks like I have some bed-time reading to do :P
