Hey guys! This is my first 3D art post on the polycount forum. Its actually the first environment I made which is worth to be shown. I struggled a little bit in the past learning all the tools necessary for production and especially the overall workflow. But I finally did it and I'm somewhat proud of the outcome.Ever since…
Hello, I was looking on the Websites of AAA Studios like Ubisoft for example and i saw there are no 3D Artist searched on like 10 AAA Studios is it because it has an other Name ( I've heard Environment Artist is similar but when i think of Enviroment Artist im thinking of Modelling Trees, Rocks and placing it into the…
Hey Peeps. I think its been about 6 years since I have posted on Polycount. Been busy concepting away here at Epic. Anyhoo, with the release of Gears 3 I thought I would post up a sampling of some stuff I did for game. Also added some stuff by my buddy Shane Pierce, the enviro concept guy here. To see other Gears 3 stuff…
@Donato I think that on the concept enviro might be smaller in comparison to human than on your blocokut, also I'd add another human model closer to the camera to get better sense of scale and distance. Asset looks very nice for the background piece imo. I started working on the courtyard, used fspy for camera matching and…
i think you are all over the place, you havent found your strength , i say ditch all your personal work and focus on achieving what you aim to, do you want to make levels ? then make playable enviros , heck , get hammer and do some team fortress 2 maps . You want to make mechanical modeling ? get some cool concepts and…

Character art is definitely very competitive. I want to start with the fact that the AD is right in the fact that it's really saturated. That said. You can chase what you love while also taking on work that pays the bills. Working in an environment art job might just be that right now, and that's okay. By working for a…
2800 units in Unity is just bad, yup did the blockout to get track shape. With just 8 copies of track (parallel ) just to experiment with lightmapping it ran out of max size allowed. Such a pain it is that even if size for geo can run fine on a device you are limited to Beast Lightmap scale. No wonder Asphalt 8 and Real…
ohh yeah this is also a key point. making chairs and small objects for decorations just wasn't interesting for me so i forced my self to do creatures. however i still suck at it i have improved and now that i have creatures i need enviorments to put them in to animate so im now going back to that and thinking of this would…
