I like the sharp edges in your drawing, which looks like cool and unique style, but your 3d model is all soft edged :) Cool illustrations on your website!
Hey everyone, I'm working on a Megaman Zero Model for Character Modeling Class. I blocked it in with nurbs. Now I've started poly modeling his face using the edge extrusion method. I need critiques on polyflow and edge loops.
Seconding slightly softening and/or beveling the hard edges. Do you have Zbrush at all? The Polish operations should help expedite processing the HP for slightly softer edges.
The edge scratch damage on the crate seem a little in your face compared to the rest of the contrast, i'd tone down the edge damage and let the specular do the work for you.
What exactly do you mean by "plotted all the edges on the model"? This is not the usual method for making UVs. If you're doing Pelt, you need to Pelt those edges.
If this is your low poly, you have tons of unnecessary edge loops running across the visor, the feet, the waist ... if an edge loop doesn't contribute to the silhouette of the model, delete it.
Now it looks way too clean. There are edges there that really should scuff or at least show a little sign of being an edge, but are perfectly clean. Happy medium is happy! :p
Thanks for the link, I I did chamfering the edges and play with smoothing groups, but I ended up welding to edges together to make the side of the tires easier to texture.
