love that stuff, you going to put them into any sort of use? These are so cool you should just put them into something like UT for the fun of it, then give it instagib and tweak the link guns lightning beam a bit and voiala, district 9 game arc gun!
Hello Polycount! Over the last year (plus a few months), I've been working away at an iOS game alongside a great team, and it's finally come out. It's been quite a journey - we tried to raise funds via Indiegogo (this is before Kickstarter came to Canada), and had little luck. Despite the failed fundraising campaign, we…
Hahaha, sneak attack thread. Guess it had to happen sooner or later. Thanks for the kind words, always good to hear from you guys :D Few weeks ago my portfolio got send around Dice to see what their reaction would be. Not much later i already had a respons and an art test to work on. This art test was good fun, bunker test…
yea, the LOD issue would be easily fixable if most of the large/medium forms were done with geo with custom edge normals, and then things small/micro details like screws are done with the decals . on almost all the models above, the decals could be dropped on an LOD more than a meter or 2 from the player, those grenades…
So this is my study diary. Hello, I apologize for not having a sketchbook. Since I'm not very good at it, it didn't seem like the right thing to do. I've recently started learning about 3D modeling topology. To truly understand it, I've created a personal exercise Inspired by Frank's posts on this forum :) , The idea is to…
I've been working on a cool retro-futuristic environment that I call Data Integrity! I tried to build my skills with environmental storytelling, real-time VFX, and using an optimization-focused pipeline with decals and a shared trim sheet/atlas. I'm having a lot of fun trying out and learning new things, so if you have any…
We've announced this in the polyfraggers section of the boards, but thought it would be good to do here too. We have secured a rather stout public server sitting on a rather large pipe in Columbus, Ohio. We're currently running a number of different game public servers including a CS:S one. if you are interested in…
Hello everyone! I would like to announce that we’ve finally completed our final year project film! I haven’t updated this thread in a while since we were fully focused on production and polishing for submission, but I wanted to share the final result along with some behind-the-scenes progress. Huge thanks to everyone…
I know this game isn't much fun without a bunch of people guessing.. but I have no clue man. The last quote reminds me of something you'd seen a Chevy chase movie or one of the Naked Gun movies :icon60: but i'm not sure...maybe a blurry picture might be of some help, after you run outa quotes...
Wow JO420! That's awesome cutting down for sure. It's good that you realize it takes time and it's not an overnight process. It seems like people tend to fail less when they have realistic expectations. My old roommate is 6'4" and 205lbs. He's going pro MMA though so he's in crazy shape. Good to know on the dryer Vig. I…
