ZBrush - Normal Map Generation - Clarify if this is usual behaviour please
Are these exports working as they should? And if so, how on earth do I get around this issue?? Each map has another checkbox in ZBrush's normal map export box, checked. AO between meshes disapear after enabling Ray Tracing?
Any idea on how to get some type of AO between the meshes? I'm able to get some AO without raytracing (1st picture) but once Ray Tracing is enable it's no more (2nd picture)... Most of the assets on the render are textured with a trimsheet. -

yes, straightening the edges is worth it in my opinion, it may be very small, but it can make a noticable difference. Small note: Rails are supposed to be flat, see the ref on the 1st page As it is now, no attachment would be able to fit on there. This my personal opinion, but I think you should work on your UV's more.… -
