So much good stuff here ! Coming back on this forum after years ! I want to share some houdini goodness  Here is a little HDA (houdini digital asset) i made for a upcoming tutorial, that help vizualise you axis in a fun way !
Yeah, fun to play with. For this one we went from quad to mushroom, carefully pushing/pulling the geometry to the center so it would have a decent amount to work with; somewhat worked but in hindsight probably should have used a low poly mesh ;). For the next one for sure.
Nice stuff Woliver ! :D doing these type of small scripts in Maya is so much fun <3 Haven't posted for a loooooong time in here, so here's some UI stuff i did a few months ago for my ADN Modeler Tools plugin.
New personal project. More on the shaderstuff this time. Snow shader with basic refill. Dynamic heightmap based on screencapture2D / topdown and decals spawning. Super fun! Unreal Engine 4. It works very similar to this technique: http://www.slideshare.net/…/gdc2014-deformable-snow-renderi… https://youtu.be/oNwulbOM4eU
Here was a quick forest test. You could get more randomization/control if u wanted. I just did it really quickly, not doing sub-object selections or multiple passes. All was done in 1 pass setting up some random properties quickly. More Tests for fun :)
I started working on a software renderer in C# just for fun and learning. I also made a half finished Quake2 BSP loader which is where the level geometry is from. It renders the entire map at that resolution at about 40 fps without any occlusion. Its about 10,000 triangles.
Some more coding practice/fun. Couple more tonemappers added to Toolbag this time, RomB, Gran Turismo, Reinhard white-preserving, Hejl-Burgess ALU(since the Hejl in TB3 is actually Hable/Uncharted), ACES reference.. Also made a material to graph their curves with the LDR range visible.
Been making this Bitmap Preview tool. But now it's expanded into a multimedia tool. You can load/use Audio and Video files now too. I will be releasing it on my site here soon enough. It's my first WPF Project, and has been fun and a good learning experience so far.
right now I work on a Lua script that generates maxscript code for UI layout stuff. So that I can use a pair of .ms and .lua file to generate an output .ms file with rollout code. the lua file describes the content (widgets...), and I can have some fun with automatic layout management.
Some Saturday night fun with GraphN: this is a material picker + object placer that basically samples whatever material under your cursor, and assigns it to the object you're currently moving. We're just a week away from the beta now, feel free to DM if you're interested in testing! :) would love to start getting some…
