Thanks!! The rivets drove me a little crazy at times, I didn't really plan on doing them but seemed to keep adding more whenever I felt like an area was getting close to done. Some are placed by hand with Modo's tack tool (select rivet, click on surface you want to snap it to). Most of the dense areas were done with the…

Good model! The face looks splotchy and hard to read (specularity too high and intense) as is the rest of the model. It looks like self illumination on tilt. The surfaces look like they have been blanketed by the same shinny finish and the ornamentation in the armor is lost. It took me a long time to see the axe in the…

Hard-surface stuff - the car is from last year and the ukulele from earlier this academic year. I probably won't revisit the car because I'm not interested in modelling vehicles but I think I'll make a more stylised and hand-painted version of the ukulele to suit my tastes :") I tried to go for realism with it but don't…
I had an idea for a way to create wavy sand. Heres where I'm starting. It's pretty terrible but it'll do for this example. I'm assuming that you don't know anything so I don't leave anything out. Sorry if some of this is stuff you already know. What we're going to do is do some UV distortion to introduce some eddies into…
Hi! Checking the lowpoly in Blender with the Normalmap applied, there are similar shading errors as you show. How does the lowpoly + Normalmap look in Toolbag? Did the shading of the lowpoly change by any chance since the bake? That said, I agree with gnoop on improving the lowpolys' shading. Hard edges at steep angles…
