Xgen hair/groom not showing *SOLVED

I have an issue in Xgen that my groom won't generate when set to the standard Generate Primitives mode: Randomly across the surface ( which I usually use ) but when I change the generation mode it displays the hair just fine.

Anyone knows what the problem might be? 
It would help me a lot, thanks
