Doesn't an object appear more saturated the more light that is shone upon it, it's the light that gives the object it's color so in a dim enviroment like your ruins I think that even with torches there wouldn't be too much color. Unless you're going for a surreal look to your enviroment I also think the color of the flame… -

Really cool stuff I like the ambience and feel to this enviorment my only one crit would be about the rocky wall texture used in the start of the video some spots seem to have tiling issues and well as the scale of the texture changes from wall to wall making it quite noticeable other then that very well done by any chance… -

i actually disagre, but again i havent seen the game in motion, so my opinion is biased, the thing is that to me uncharted 2 has waaay busy environments , i have headaches just looking at the screenshots, also it seems very familiar with mgs4 enviros hence i might not be as surprised haha. Cool style, I see what you mean. Are you interested in doing the characters or the enviro art? If its characters depending on the toonshader/method you use, it could make modeling difficult too. I'm at a similar point in life; similar age, similar career path, including getting into game dev in the later stages. I definitely got burnt out in my enviro/prop artist role. Felt like depression, and there was a period where I was able to push through it by reminding myself of all the people who would kill to have a job… -
