I review portfolios every year at GDC as part of the education summit, and sometimes as part of a booth...and just casually. Probably around 75 a conference, but probably around 100 folios a year if you include random emails, favors, and stuff like that. lol, just saw Indian_Boy's thread. Damn, if the kid is going to buy it anyway, who cares if he played the pirate copy? He claims he played a demo at some gamers conference. Whatever the case, rather than being pissed that someone (maybe) played a pirate copy, be glad they are still going to support you by buying the game.… -

It's fairly unlikely that you'll directly find a job at GDC. Certainly not impossible, but I wouldn't count on it. What can happen, though, is you can make some connections to people at a bunch of different studios, and once they do have an opening, you know someone to contact to get your portfolio to the top of the stack.… -

Thanks Paul! Yeah, I had originally put the images together for a small bit on the companies site... As far as budget, the original environments were created for PS3 and x360 with a 100,000 poly count limit on Caesars Palace and anywhere from 50-75,000 polys for the non-casino environments. We never really got that high… -
