Hey guys, I'm just gonna plug my Youtube Channel. =] I've been using the Channel for almost over 2 years. I started uploading two random videos of Sci Fi space ships and then went on to do my most featured work on 3DSMax Tutorials with HD Support and nice reception. It's now a Channel dedicated to all things Animation.…
I'm working on a terrain in mudbox, along with world machine based on a tutorial on youtube. I followed the tutorial exactly, but i'm getting a problem every single time (on my 5th different mesh now) where the terrain UV seems to mess up after the 3rd subdivision. a large vertical strip on one side of the mesh just just…
Hey! New guy here :) We just got Phoenix licenses at my school, and I'm trying to learn it. So I've been following some tutorials by Svetlin Nikolov, on how to make some sweet explosions. He's using MR in the tutorial, so naturally I used the same. But somewhere along the path my explosions wouldn't show up in my renders,…
Overall the assets aren't bad, but just not enough to stand on their own as seperate portfolio pieces. The best thing to do with these smaller pieces is just make a small scene out of it, it doesn't have to be a large complex environment, you could just do something along the lines of these:…
Thanks for the comment Rik. The second technique you described for forming the concavity is actually more or less what I did in the screenshot I posted. The part I couldn't figure out was how to marry it together cleanly with the main cylinder of the flashlight body. Shortly afterward I tried just going in with the cut…
I'd say for the most part unless you plan on going to VFS or Guild Hall, stay away from most of the game design programs, some are ok, but most aren't. Get a fine art degree and learn to model/texture/ 3d-ize stuff through tutorials and help via websites like this one. I also hear Spark is doing good things over at AI…
Night#6 so far. Never mind the floating box on the second shelf :poly124:. I had a much slower time with these shelf pieces because I wasn't as sure about what I was making. That usually determines how fast and confidently I can model. About the question of how to display the model, I'm really not thinking about it much…
Yea, we use the latest version of UDK at the time of capturing the tutorials where possible but inevitably some assets that were in UDK get removed and replaced with new ones. All the old UDK installers are still available so you can always get them and then append the packages. Not ideal, but it's a good work around. The…
Hi there, Here they are, 3 of them. The one on the left shows the High rez and the Low rez models. Middle shows the settings for the skylight and lighttracer plugin. On the large image, you can see the resulting output. Notice the black patches are where the low rez and high rez model intersect.…
I bumped into this old thread but coincidence. Talking about the ZBrush renders + Photoshop layering you can have a look at the following tutorials to better understand the process: - Bardford Smith - ZBrush Tiling Textures in 2.5D: Parts 4-6: http://bradfolio.com/tutorials/zbrush-tiling-textures-2d-4-6/ - Tobias Koepp -…
