PhoenixFD effect not showing up with MR-renderer.

We just got Phoenix licenses at my school, and I'm trying to learn it. So I've been following some tutorials by Svetlin Nikolov, on how to make some sweet explosions.
He's using MR in the tutorial, so naturally I used the same. But somewhere along the path my explosions wouldn't show up in my renders, but they showed up in his. When I switch to Vray, the explosion shows up...
I've never used Vray, so I'd rather start off with MR at this point. So does anyone know why it's not showing up? Some parameters or buttons I messed up?
