Hello people of the day. This is my first character made specifically for games. I would love to get some CC's and tighten the project up. Its a concept by Darren Bartley aka fightPUNCH. Posted a WIP a bit ago and here is the finished version. you can check out the turtable HERE.
Welcome to my workshop hut, as of this day, I've already 9 items in the workshop, none accepted yet and learning and doing everyday. This thread might be very slow since my internet connection is very limited (3rd world country in a nutshell). Alas, welcome anyway! Have a nice stay!
aka. Half-life´s Grunts. Decided to play HL1 and downloaded the high definition pack. The Grunts looked so bad I wanted to do my own versions. So here they are: I´ll try to import them into the game when I´m done. Crits & Comments are welcome!
There's the envelope, that determines projection distance, and under Transfer maps settings, you have in the last tab the option Geometry Normals or Surface Normals, aka - use cage method (averaged ray projection I believe) or don't use cage.
@darbeenbo - Alas and alack, the XNormal UI is only a Photoshop mock up. I did a little work on the rust/dust pass for one of the vehicles. Haven't done any work on the spec yet, this is just flat diffuse. Any critiques?
The auteur of Ghost of a Tale, Seith (aka Lionel Gallat), contributed a lot to the Maya > CryENGINE community... he built/shared/supported a free Maya > CryENGINE exporting tool, along with some free animation tutorials. Every success to the project!
Thx for the crits :D i'll have another go at it and see if i can make it cleaner and fix the pointed issues. :) I tested this to see if i could make the page itself a portfolio piece, but alas a clear fail :P
AAh no no I am alive, just busy with lots of different stuff. also terrorblade really is hard to work on... I really got nowhere there. Here is a Jugg mask I did in the meantime, sketch was made with alchemy and colored in photoshop
the tactical dreadnaught (AKA: Terminator) armour, that he is encased in, is fully powered, and very much capable of inhuman feats of strength, and control, while at the same time not being at all slow or sluggish. the thing is powered by a nuclear fusion reactor btw.
Aha /facepalm! I guess I just immediately think it's a normal mapped asset whenever I see a wireframe over something. I was thinking 'how the hell did he get that mesh to look so high res'!
