I dig it a lot, I think its a great idea and has lots of potential. The only critisms I can offer is the little medallion on his head is so contrasting that my eye is pulled to that point. I think you should play with the pennants around Furions neck. I feel that would fit better then a gray plain stone pennant.

Keep pushing it, its looking great!

I'm back, I decided to ditch the horse ward for juggernaut and decided to go with a rocket for gyro as a CNY submission.

I'm doing a horse sculpture for jugg ward too and I just realized there is no "paticle effect" option to submit

Change of plan, I've decided to go with one fat ass fireworks rocket instead of three, 200 tris would've made it a mess!



That's the base mesh done, on to sculpting!

I like your sculpt, but I am worried the details are so small that they will be invisible ingame...

You can still overwrite the default effect for testing purposes. If Valve decides to add it you can send them your file

I decided to ditch the cloth look and go with a patched metal look, and oh my, it looks even better! I've also given the detail more definition.

Good call on the metal, I hope you still keep the color map similar to a traditional Chinese firework, that with the paint wear on the details wouild look so nice, imo, excited to see this finished

Man, 300 tris isn't enough for the extruded metal plates. Oh well, flatness with shaders doesn't look too flat from far away luckily.




LOD 0 is done and still refining the textures a bit, I want to add some sort of decal on the rocket but have no clue what to paint on... Suggestions?

That AM set looks very Assassin's Creedy. Almost feels like the bottom side scarfey thingies should connect all the way around the back for a skirt-type thing that covers his butt.
