I've been using the Quixel library and have fallen in love with it, but I've noticed that practically all of their trunk 3d models have an hole in the top where you can look inside of it. I was wondering if there is any practical way of fixing this?
I don't have Maya loaded right in front of me, but there is countless ways you can fill this hole. You can fill it with the "Pen tool" with snaps "on" use a method called "Cap holes" or have a look at bridge. Just do a little search on Youtube with the above terms and watch how other people do. Hey guys, Made a new tutorial. This time, learn how to carve holes into your meshes and reveal detail underneath. Check out the video here or the text version on my Blog Let me know if you guys have any questions
model I used this project as a way to teach myself how to rig and also to do a realistic animal. High poly head section. The rig in a close to neutral pose. Controls under the head are for the tongue and eyes.
Hi folks! I'm a game design student and this is my first thread on Polycount forums! I'm working on the first game character for my graduate demo reel. What you're referring to I think would only work well in games (where the viewer also has the ability to change their point of focus), and then I think only rarely (and if done subtly). As throttlekitty mentioned, our monitors don't detect eye movement - and neither does paper (magazines with screenshots, posters, etc). If…

Voodoo (haitian voodoo) is based on christianity is often used as religion to aid people, heal them and be in contact with nature. Of course, there are a few bad sorcerers here and…
I've finished making my hi-res that has lots of holes in it but I'm stuck on how to retopo a low-res with opacity maps projected on it (i.e. orange, blue, and briht red planes): All the tutorials I've searched for are just showing how to get transparent materials in Zbrush. :(
Finally
got the next update ready! I may have tried to do too many things at once for one update
:). I
went ahead and did new game builds for this update as well:

so if you want to see some of the things I talk about below, you can
try it out. One of the builds is with a normal…
As you can see on the left it results are washed. Im using ACESsRGB colour and exporting 2dview. I have tried changing the settings in many ways but I must be misunderstanding something. Sorry if these seems clueless or random but it is an issue I have and would love to know how I can accurately represent the 2dview when…
