worked on this today... some of my own notes in the image... Some weren't diggin on the DOF... so i just took a snapshot of this one :) Thanks for the great feedback up to this point... I've really tried to incorporate as much of it as I could... I added some blue to the spec to make it seem more cold as ZacD mentioned...…
Started looking at some reference material and realised that I had tried to give him the body of a sprinter and that it would be more fitting if I tried to give him more of a marathon runner body. Tried doing a paintover where I tried to give a more slender look.
A year ago, I started learning 3D modeling. At first, everything was going great – I was quickly grasping the basics, and I really enjoyed it. It seemed simple and clear. But as I dug deeper into it, things got harder. I noticed that I was doing all my work based on tutorials. Whenever I tried to create something on my…
I actually sat down and had a conversation more or less identical to this with a producer, where we were bouncing back and forth the idea of a game not only set in South America, but about the Cold War years and the struggles between pro-Western and pro-Communist groups in various nations seen through the average person's…

of Mini One First car Hi
3DModelers, I am back
to show you more things about my car. So I continued by creating the dashboard.
I began by extruding the border edge of the bonnet, and then I made this shape
by extruding the edges. Finally, the dashboard had three sloped gaps, and I
modeled them by using Booleans…
HEY PETE!! yeah that really isn't a texture, its just different material groups and a multi-sub shader. Anyway, the mesh is 4016 tris or 2190 quads, with a few tris, I never am sure if people are counting tris or their quads for their polys, so I count tris just to be safe.
sounds good :) @ hawken - just had one question regarding Extras. That aspect is not very clear imho. Does it mean that ON TOP of scene tri/texture count we can ADD 20X256 worth of tris? If so, is it mandatory to add extras to the scene? And why could not we have just 1024+(20x256) of tris (plus same for textutre budget)…
I need to weld together three triangles in a sort of bill-board way. This bill-board will be replicated thousands of times on all sorts of foliage. I've tried welding the vertices one by one. I've tried welding the edges. I've tried collapsing the vertices. I've tried collapsing the edges. None of them work. They either…
I'm losing my mind over here. I feel like I've tried everything for my issue... so I decided to ask here and see if anyone had any ideas on what to do. I'm working on a Rubick set. Most of my items work just fine in the importer(head, staff, shoulders)... but for the life of me I just can't figure out what is going on with…
