Dare to be Digital 2012

MayaLT 2017, any method to straighten out circular UV?
I have this circular UV that I think would be better laid out if it was a strip in the UV page. I cut a seam in it, how can I get it to form a straight line similar to the above UVs? Is this possible? -

Max 2010 - mental ray - how do i enable shadow?
im trying to get some outdoors shadows on my renders, i use mental ray GI and have skylight how do i make stuff cast shadow? -

3ds max 2012 right click crash
Hi, Recently I've been messing around with scripts, and now whenever I am on an active viewport and I right click max automatically crashes. I am able to right click outside of the active viewport and max won't crash. Not sure how to fix this. EDIT: think i have pintpointed it to a script that included the ribbon. -
