When you link a Biped to any object the planted keys stay planted relative to the parent object. So they are not ignored they are just moving with the parent. (Just trying to explain.) Constraints don't work with Biped objects, only bones and regular max objects. This would be a difficult sequence for even an experienced…
creature tools i found to be one of the few good rig systems for maya, too. but personally i like zooCST more, you can easily apply it to your own non-bipedal skeletons and it has some nice body part locking features. it's far more flexible for setting up your own rig's as well. from what i gathered, fbik is in maya to aid…
What do you guys usually use to animate for games? i have characters human & animal to animate & put in to "Unity" engine Is it better to do bones/ biped since it already put an IK setup for the human char? any pro/ cons for each?? thx
Sorry for my poor English. https://vimeo.com/70415689?ref=em-v-share This video, reflected in 12 seconds, is the control of the tentacles Considering exporting to the game engine, is it still mainstream to set up with Spline IK? Please tell me if there are any other good methods, tutorials etc!
Thanks Juan, Coming from Maya, all these different menus and such are tough to decipher. :P Woof. That's brutal. There is IK attached to the legs, but I guess I have to move them to match up with the ground after I position the torso.
Here's a chicken skeleton which I made a long time ago using a biped. It's very low poly. The wing had an alpha channel to give it a feathered profile. It's got so few bones there isn't any need for IK.

Perfect info, Thanks so much!! I will totally get some anticipation in there. I also got feedback that I need to make the hands less "IK"-y at the end when he takes a breath from my teacher.
Update: I managed to find some solutions but one still remains. When trying to bake the IK handles down, they screw up and break. No idea why. Both hands hands are constrained to a prop, they should bake out fine.
Physique and CS are band-aid solutions left over from a time when Max did not have a proper IK solution or a functional skin modifier. Not to say that Physique and CS are bad .. if you like to bake using Betty Crocker.
