Cool concept choice, and nice start! This thing that immediately stands out to me is that you are trying to make the face shape in a straight on view based on the concept where the head is tilted up. This is skewing the proportions of your chin and lower lip quite a bit. The chin/jaw should be a little longer and the lower…
Is there a name for the specific process of creating a set of textures on a power of 2 grid, so you can cut out sections on a plane and place them how you like in a 3D program? I'm trying to find tutorials on the Photo Shop specifics of this process but I'm not sure what to call it.
This guy decided to trade it for something bigger and better, which he then traded for something bigger and better, and so on and so on. Now he has one red power generator, which (you guessed it) he is looking to trade for something bigger and better.
Hi Guys, I was just watching some Hair farm videos and wondered if it can be used in anyway for Game Res meshes. http://www.hair-farm.com Has anyone ever tried to use it with 3dsMax Render to Texture? If it were possible it might it could be quite powerful.
hi! i want share some screen shot of my two first textures using substance designer, is a large curve to learn to use it, but i think is very powerful the two are 100% procedurel, no bitmaps. :) please feel free to comment, thanks!
Try to give yourself some slack, power down occasionally there's time enough for personal stuff just take time out enjoying the experience doing the thing you've obviously worked hard toward achieving.
Pretty much what Glynn was talking about. (http://www.eriklarsson.net/shader_window.html) Reading in a power point about procedural buildings, Epic mentioned doing this as layers and using the camera vector and offset with that. Haven't tried it yet.
IMHO, photo-sourcing elements of a texture is a great tool in the arsenal of 3D art. Arbitrarily removing any tool from your art toolbox, especially one so powerful, seems pretty foolish to me.
Working on some more game assets, which if all goes to plan, will end up in an actual game. Whale gun: Fan gun: Piano gun: Monster: Copter-Powered Whale Strike Air Support:
@ omglawl. Thanks for your comment. I agree they do need revisiting before it can become game ready, which I'll be looking into soon. That software looks amazing, very powerful. Cheers for the heads up.
