It is surprising that they laid off many key employees with years of experience some of which are now starting their own studios. I don't understand this strategy at all. I am curious if they were willing to negotiate some way to retain them. Like Ubisoft has a system where they place an employee on sabattical, sometimes…
You're spending too many polygons on small bits and not enough on the large shapes. For example, remove all the ridges from that window and make it a 12 or 16 sided cylinder instead. Much better overall distribution. Along the same lines, that dent in the skirting board also doesn't do too much.
yeah i did that... i did that plus personal art work while i was crunching on my full time job (12 hour days) and well.. it sucked ASSS don't do it, unless you HAVE an extra say 4-6 hours a day you want to spend modeling
I spill water once a week. :/ Aside from spilling some pepsi on my work keyboard 12 years ago, no damage has occurred (although there have been numerous close calls). My beverages have subconsciously since moved further and further to my left with each incident.
ah yes, mr. dekard. Sadly i ran out of polygons for this and it was one of the last points I sacrificed. I could pretty easily add in 12 more tris and re-normal those. After i get my grade on this I'll probablly do just that thanks sirs :P
A friend just sent me this, an article with mp3s of the comedians who performed during the closing ceremony. Patton Oswalt is fucking hilarious! :D http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/12/blizzcon-2008-the-comedy-of-the-closing-ceremony/ http://podcasts.aolcdn.com/joystiq/files/KyleKinane.mp3…
Not completely sure what's going on here. -The glass in 1 mesh: works fine (not in the screenshot) -Detaching the glass to use the "add" transparancy: I get this sort of 8 sided reflection with "local reflections" on. (left side on the image, right is with it off). Glass itself, and the cylinders around it, have atleast…
Thanks, Razorb, I'm a fan of your work. Started on a lil' buddy for the mech. Some kind of observation drone / maintenance bot. Still real early, but this is the general direction I want to go. This guy's about 2/3 the height of a man, where as the other mech is about 10' - 12' tall.
I see, so only a cgfx could be a solution. :| (So of course, in this case I will save my time with doing it directly in UDK... ) I tried to use the one made by Brice (but it looks like I can't setup it correctly) : http://www.polycount.com/forum/showpost.php?p=834503&postcount=12
Did I miss something on the last page? How did asmuel saying he thinks console games are fun earn a 'I'd suggest doing it on a forum that's full of fellow 12 year olds rather than people you hope to be working alongside one day' ? Ohwait, this is polycount. Proceed.
