Rens - thanks man, how does this look? I straightened out all the areas that i will need to texture text on nice and easy... i would have gone through hell trying to make the text work out on the last uvmap job i did... thank you again. :) also cleaned up the wires like you said.... is this what you meant?
Hey guys, first time poster. So much amazing work here! I've started to check this thread religiously! Here's a Tree Man that is the jumbled mess that resulted from me trying to learn ZBrush UVmapping and Substance Painter. I can't seam to get the embedded sketchfab feature to work or delete my comment so here's the link:…
playing around with projecting my concept art onto the model ... i had the uvmap mirroring so its a bit symetrical.. otoh it came out nice so i am debating whether or not to make it asymetrical or not.. so now i ahve to go and flesh out medium frequency details yay ! also just for fun is the original texture + fancy pants…
[ QUOTE ] I also barely recall someone using Photoshop to calculate unused pixels... ? [/ QUOTE ] I haven't used the script. When I grab a UVmap from the UV editor I'll do one that's the lines and one that fills with solid white+white lines. You can use the photoshop average filter on the resulting file and the resulting…
Quickly tested a new workflow to get my sculpt into Painter without bothering with retopology, Uvmapping and baking. I imported my blender sculpt into Zbrush to get the Uvs generated and exported the entire highpoly with Uvs to Painter. The remaining maps like AO and curvature I baked directly inside Painter. I'm surprised…
About the offset angle on the model,is your model exported straight along axis from your 3D package? The reason why the projection is blurry is probably because you have exported the model without equal quads.(in other words, create low poly model. UVMap it,then duplicate it,and divide it in equal quads before export) the…
I don't think there's something like that... Not to my knowledge anyway. I have seen ways to change UV layout later once the texture is completely done. (you rebake the finished lowpoly with new UVmapped lowpoly). But to manipulate the UV as you go, I don't think so. BTW, great job. Feels like Mabinogi Online but with…
I used to use it a lot, great program that can do a lot. But I'd recommend starting with max or maya as those are the main ones used in the industry, so at worst you'd have to switch to the other one, at best the company uses the one you already learned. I still use Blender for all my uvmapping, at home and work. Not seen…
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I thought part of being a videogame artist was combining being a techy person with being an arty person? [/ QUOTE ] I´ll agree with that That is even the extra bit that makes it really interesting. [/ QUOTE ]To a certain extent yes but normal mapping just feels like it needs better tools. Maybe it gets…
Hi guys just like to share my latest work "Ice Dragon" with everyone. This is inspired directly from the McFarlane's Dragon toy series and with some modification. The model is done in Maya and Zbrush, final low poly model is 7.1k, textured in Photoshop with one 2k x 2k UVmap for textures, "Will upload them if been…
