Hello I'm trying to add some of my assets to unreal's asset store, but I'm struggling quite a bit since I've only worked with Unity. I have this unrigged torture chair asset that doesn't contain animations. It is divided by the main body, and then all the components that I want to be possible to animate in unreal. So in…
I am starting out to learn modeling in 3ds Max. I am trying to model a hard surface object that has smooth curved surfaces as well. I am working on a gundam model (from gundam seed series). Here is the link I am not sure if I am doing it right so I would be really grateful of you nice fellows out there sort of shed some…
Yea. Unsure whats causing this. Reset the xform on all. The cage is far enough. Is it the scale of the object possibly (ie my object space)? Shouldn't be because I baked other objects in same system (cm) with no issues that were smaller. Any tools in Max Im ignorant about that would highlight problem areas? Here is the…
I made an animation with a biped skeleton on my mesh and i exited max 6 then restarted it and tried to view the file. When i exited the program all was fine. When i started the program & file back up the model was in the air off the ground i had placed it on. What i did was weighted the verts on the mesh to the biped…
Hey Polycounters! My friends and I are creating a game inspired by Anti Bullying. The first ever JRPG to focus on the Art of Sumo and mixed combat. The story is set in imaginary old japan and is based on a chubby boy and a journey in self-discovery. This unique JRPG cleverly and intrusively infuses Anti-Bullying into a…
uh why dont you copy and paste the chamfer with desired settings.. pasting it with all objects selected (it works like instance then) or just paste individually per mesh and change settings to your desire without having to reduce segments.
Nice! This already gives you specific goals to work towards, and that's a fine selection in itself. I must follow at least half of these artists, hah. So, for the overpaint I picked something you painted from mind. Buckle up for the long ride! I wish there was a way to pause gifs here because the superposition is important…
"Good" or "Appropriate" texture resolution is usually more determined by how large/prominent the object will be on screen. You want enough resolution in the texture to keep things from looking blocky or blurry. Setting a standard based on the objects physical size in the game world is often a good way to keep things…
Thanks :) By the weather - do you mean by the climate zones or really by the weather? Actually yes and in this example I did this very extensivly because I had a lot of northern scenes to do at work and with this project I want to bring this to an 'personal' end. In the last few months I studied northern climate zones a…
Weapons are fine, theyre very aesthetic and challenging For the concepts, and the link posted: Most of the concepts are bad. Real life objects are a lot more valuable as subject. First problem with concepts is, that often the person doing them has flawed artistic vision, and that will transfer over to your model. Yes you…
