hmm cartoony was definitely not the look I was going for so I did some minor changes and replaced the "fronds". Sorry my english isn't that sharp. Is fronds the same as stamen? also I've distributed the pixels a little better in the new texture. Thanks http://www.swissquake.ch/chumbalum-soft/...p;postid=111905…
I think by 'faked' Daz meant that they shader was not doing the types of calculations that an off-line renderer does, but instead something cheaper that yields a similar effect to SSS. I think they're calling them 'transmission masks,' and the shader was primarily a translucency effect (self illuminate if nearby pixels in…
Yup, you need a capture card. You could go the analog way by setting up a camera on a tripod looking at the monitor, in a dark room to reduce reflections, but you'll run into moire artifacts from the screen pixels and also blurriness from low exposure times. If you point at a CRT you also get the dark band from the refresh…
I would have to disagree with using motion blur and gaussian blur on textures. they are blurry enough as is. Like pixelmasher said - pixel density is all crazy. If I were u I would upres the floor and the wallz with tileable textures. you can break that up later with decals if need be. Overall you can way up res this…
Wasn't saying it was Greek, just saying they completely ripped the visual style of 300. The original Spartacus movie is a classic, just like Clash of the Titans. nothing can really replace them :) @Pixel - that's disappointing. I didn't know the 1st eps was online though, I'll have to check that out. Hopefully they'll ease…
Cool, spent some time making the LED screen shader. Red from the image illuminates the red "leds", blue does "blue" and green does "green". This shader has a few settings like a real TV: brightness, contrast and working on refresh rate. You can also define your "monitor resolution" and if you want square or rectangular…
Can you elaborate on what you mean by the subtle details from ME2 ? One of the things I've noticed is that almost everything has those neat 1/2 pixel highlights that only seem to come from highpoly meshes. If there are other techniques or things you can tell me about, please do, because I find myself to be pretty new to…
What i didn't like about the way i mapped the cone was the distortion and way-too-apparent seams. Also when i painted on the average normals palanar map I got alot of pixelation at the edge (may have to provide an image to better illustrate this). Thanks for the quick replies. I'll have to try them out and see what works…
Yeah, judging by the texture you posted, you could EASILY squeeze the UVs to take up more pixel space. The texture itself looks pretty slick, though. From what I can see, you can easily collapse together a bunch of the edges on the seat cushion and not lose any detail. Just have the rippling done all with normal mapping.
well, he have no shoulders and he's too fat for me, Captain N megaman doesn't resemble the original megaman at all men :\ i know that the sprite have almost no shoulders too but it was about 24-25 pixel tall and it doen't look strange like in a 3d model also because the pose…
