Your texture could be a single side of the crate and you would arrange each UV shell to use 100% of the texture. In 3dsmax you click on each face, then click "quick planar map". There are 5-6 other ways to do it but that's probably the easiest. If you're using maya there are similar functions, but I don't have it installed…
I know this is BS since I'm not in office yet. Oh, but it wouldn't be destroying America's first world status, but bringing the status quo to first world levels all over. :) to-may-to to-mah-to I know. We do so love starvation and lack of clean water elsewhere so we can say how good we have it, all the while feigning guilt…
I am getting aliasing between 2 circular shells, here is the model (in SP): This is the UVs in SP: The exported textures look like this: Note the green has transferred over to the pink and vice versa, creating the aliasing effect you see in the first image. You can manually fix this in Photoshop: To get a result that looks…
Well first off, I use Canon, so my recommendations will be based off of that. Nikon and Pentax make great cameras and have pretty equivalent systems, generally when i was researching my camera, I found Canon had better image quality and less noise at the same price point as other systems. Also canon EF lenses are very…
I really could use help on getting my details right and the topo. It seems like i would sit down and work over and over just for there to be issues... I've adapted a lot of learning techniques through YT so i'm still learning. I only model cars really i do plan to venture into maybe trains or semi trucks. I'm trying to do…
Currently less time for personal projects, but happy to have freelance work. Going to move to another region of Germany in the next two month, have to clear my flat and fix it up. Continued some with the roundtable room. Added in an old knight model. Updated the web build hosted on itch. Some screenshots: I decided to get…
love the curvy pieces! One thing that might be cool to add (if you want) would be some sort of moon/planet in the sky kinda like this for me that really helps to sell the fact that this isn't a earth desert!
Wow, guys can't thank you enough for putting so much care in the answers. @poopipe I couldn't make it work with several geometries as in the example. I'm using Unwrap - Edit Uvs Mapping -Flatten - material ID checked Instead of overlapping the textures with the same material ID, they are still split into different shells:…
the point of UDIMs is to distribute the UV shells across multiple pages. whether your game engine supports it or not will determine whether you actually want to do that or not.
