Hi, The metalness map helped and improved the render making it look closer to metal. It's still not as spectacular as in the 3do render. If I leave the albedo black it renders too black and if I make it greyer it looks halfway between metal and plastic, but there might be things I need to do on my side to get there. -

hey jimmy, i'm guess most of the images are rendered in maya? If so, I would look into a realtime rendering solution because it looks like the render is doing you more bad than good. also that low res grunge in the background is nasty. the thumbs are really low res looking as well. -

Its modo! Really quick renders to do too, just a bit of GI and blurred reflection, renders in 1-2 minutes! It gives me a huge boner, i spend too much time playing with the render stuff, i should have had the whole thing finished by now =D -

Not that I'm aware of, but if you have an Nvidia card you can use CUDA for rendering Normal and AO maps (Optix renderer). EDIT: Apparently it does support distributed rendering, but I do not know how to set it up http://santyhammer.blogspot.com/2007/07/xnormal-3110-beta-1.html -

It seems to work OK for me. How exactly are you searching, and what for? I type "render to texture maxscript" in the top right search bar, and the result I want is the 10th item "Render To Texture Using MAXScript" http://help.autodesk.com/view/3DSMAX/2018/ENU/?query=render to texture maxscript -

What are you rendering with or are you just print screening? 3dsmax: Rendering out a .png will give you a transparent background to place the image on a custom background if you want to do that. Set the resolution size you desire hit render boom model only no background. Make it all pretty in Ad.Ph.Sh. -
