Not sure if this has been asked before, I basically need to bake lightmap with only lowpoly and normal map, kind of like how painter does it, but it can't use custom lights. Thanks!
Hey all...I love pushing polys but still cant help but wonder if theres a script for 3ds max that "pop" the lowpoly shell to fit the highpoly mesh? It would save HUGE amount of time :O Thx, Jakob
Hi everyone i don't know why 3ds max render to texture normalmap and occ is working weard i resized the highpoly a bit more than lowpoly and triangulated the lowpoly but why triangles are coming in map.
this is about your lowpoly beeing dirty and having lots of intersecting geo where it isnt needed like pior said, make a cleaner lowpoly and explode only what is needed.
yeah , i forgot that they were his wires .. :) this is the HighPoly Version beveled at the corners .. sorry , i sayed it was lowpoly by mistake . the lowpoly version when i finish this HP version
i am not sure i understand the question usually you have the lowpoly ready and bake the ao from the highpoly down to the lowpolies, like you would do with a normalmap.
I think that is exactly the problem. If you bake your Normals with half the Lowpoly, the Vertex Normals on the complete welded handle would be different along the seam to the mesh you baked with, resulting in a seam. To fix it either use different SGs on the complete Mesh, bake with the whole Lowpoly or fix the vertex…
Tags sound good why not something easy like [Highpoly] [Midpoly] [Lowpoly] then thread name so everything would be labeled Mandatory selection Examples: [Highpoly] 7000+ [Midpoly] 3500-7000 [Lowpoly] 1-3500 Post format example: [Highpoly] my Environment [Midpoly] my Charcter [Lowpoly] my Props .02¢
So, say, my Subtools are.... (all lined up correctly) Mesh A HighRes Mesh A LowPoly Mesh B HighRes Mesh B Lowpoly Mesh C HighRes Mesh C LowPoly Then Transpose, and mask off Bs and Cs while I move As. Then do the same when I move Bs and Cs ? That could work.
Hey, the upper Part of the Pistol looks like a HighPoly with hard edges. The Magazine looks LowPoly. So first make your Highpoly and smooth your edges. The smoother the HighPoly is, the more Normal pixel information you will get on your lowpoly bake. So you will have nice reflections. Then Bake it down to your LowPoly and…
