if fbx is triangulating, it is a setting in the exporter, or your exporting at editable mesh, not editable poly -

Seems like a constraint is enabled in edit poly - edit geometry. Set it to "none". -

I right click and exposed the parameter but nothing shows up in the checklist. EDIT: Never mind. I deleted the uniform color node and recreated it. The parameter is exposed. -
