I had a little dig inside it but gave up - it's very complicated. I don't think you need to use the atlas splitter, there's a load of stuff in there that looks like it's identifying separate shapes in the atlas Part of me thinks it might be incomplete - this is on 2020.1.2 I reckon it's worth asking allegorithmic directly
@Jerc Fuck yes! You made my day. Allegorithmic are doing so many awesome things as a company, I love it. @Sonicblue, heh manjaro w/xfce is what I'm testing at the moment (have it installed on my laptop and a VM on my pc). Seems to be a good blend of simplicity and performance.
Hey everyone. I've been looking into learning Substance Designer for fun and i cant seem to find a good basic beginners guide for it. I really enjoyed the playlist Allegorithmic put together for substance painter (Substance Painter Texturing for Beginners) and would like something along these lines for Designer. Any links…

I made some PBR charts for internal use a few months back and they've now been released to the wild! Values courtesy of Quixel, Allegorithmic and internal data. You can grab both the Specular and Metallic variants of the charts as high res png and pdf files here:…
Can't figure out how to embed videos so [Edit: Auto-embed?! God bless you, internet] [ame] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ugVuyCXjss[/ame] DDO/NDO painters, 3DO now can do baking. Seem very comparable to the Allegorithmic suite of programs. Free upgrade if you own Quixel 1.0.
Yes, this is very old school. I used to do this years ago in Max long before S Painter. I would use blended box mapping for a tiling material and project planar uvw mapping modifiers to be painted in PS over a UV snapshot to different uvw channels for unique texturing detail.....thank you Allegorithmic.
I'd check very carefully with Allegorithmic on the ati cards, they've traditionally been unstable and I'm not even sure the workstation ones are officially supported yet. Regardless, as far as game work goes the cost/benefit ratio of the workstation cards has long been very poor - especially if you're not hanging it out of…
It's pretty simple actually, roughness/glossines map is just a simple map that will have grayscales values. I don't really think that there will be a time where you will use full black or white thought. Marmoset website and allegorithmic have some really good articles that explain it in depht if you want to know how it…
