I didn't use any basemesh for the head. I started out in Zbrush with Dino-mesh just pushing and pulling. To make the cutouts in the jaw I inserted a squished cylinder with the subtraction boolean. That was the easy part. Getting in there and sculpting was another story. I made rough Polygroup selection sets to hide parts…
I'm using a Canon EOS 70D. Didn't buy it specifically for photogrammetry though. Works just fine. I usually use my EF 40mm STM or EF-S 18-135mm STM. I haven't tried this yet, but with a polarizing lens you should be able to extract/separate glossy data to some extent. It will produce a few clicks darker photos, but if you…
Basically, you pump up the contrast enormously until there are (almost) only black and white pixels. Then 'clamp' it so you don't have values lower than 0 (which will subtract when rendering the scene) or higher than 1 (which will cause bloom). You'll probably have to fiddle a bit with values and maybe your texture channel…
1. 1 2k ( 6 x 6 frames ) for main cloud 1 ( 6 x 6 frames ) 1024 for detail cloud , ( probably could be lower ) - overall can be reduced since all texture is tiling. each smaller and high freq texture is subtracting larger / low frequency texture , creating impression of high resolution texture. I put the density and…
Today I started making the low poly model of the roads / pavement which i plan to create as modular pieces, some with drains ...unless i can make this seperate and just use the subtractive feature in unreal so that theres the appearance of a connected drain either way i let myself go a little bit more crazy on the bevels…
I think it would be hard to gauge ones skills and talents if they were to team up with a concept artist. I think it's pretty important to grow as much as possible as an artist...so if that means pushing yourself to make a nice concept, so be it. If they do, however, allow us to pair up...it would be pretty tempting. I…
hi i'm very new to udk but i have been a level designer for quite some time in halo 2 (for windows) so i hope you will excuse what i already know to be a very noobish question. how do i change my level geometry style to additive? there is supposed to be a dialogue box that pops up after you create a new level, that asks…
Hi there. Odin here. I'm learning to create 3D characters and having a go at the workflow. First time using the software packages so want to share my journey so far(long month of trying to figure out menus lol). If you have any tips and tricks, feel free to share and critiques are always welcome. Started modeling in maya…
Hi everyone, my level design tools for Unity are a 33% off for the next 22 hours SabreCSG allows you to build levels in-engine by using additive and subtractive brushes allowing you to very rapidly and non-destructively build and iterate levels. By using brushes and CSG you're able to make both small and huge changes very…
Hi I'm new to the forum and hope to find some inspiration. I'm making a program in c# and I want to be able to create, manipulate and show 3D objects. So for example, I would like to create a box, subtract a cylinder from it and present it in a window with mouse click interaction. So basically what any standard 3D modelling…
