Process question: http://phillgonzo.deviantart.com/art/Terran-Warhound-358687805 So for the typical Starcraft 2 unit, are they actually sculpting high-res sculpts and baking it down, or are they just doing nDo-like operations? Or do they actually sculpt a high poly version that matches the very low poly asset they're…
So my high poly model has some circles and holes in some places, some of them end up just fine, but some get this distortion on them. How do I solve this? Thanks in advance!
I don't know how to explain this, so I have a picture. I have tried the mesh with and without binormal inputs, fbx and collada. Without any map except the tangent map. Its like loosing the edge of the mesh padding or something to that effect, while the tangent map (and all others) have plenty of padding.
Hi guys, do you know why i get the following issue in UE4? Unreal Engine 4. The Lightmaps are ok (green) and the light was baked on production. Yes there is a UV seem, but why do I get such an ungly border. In Substance Painter and Marmoset everything Looks fine. See below. Substance Painter Marmoset
Xnormal and 3dsmax can bake almost identical normal maps. The issue here is probably a lack of understanding what is causing the error. Like Joao said pictures will help. Here are the images we could use to help you best 2D Normal Map from max 3D Model with no texture, just smoothing groups. 3D Model with ONLY the Normal…
I'm baking a high poly version of the basket section from my shopping cart onto my low poly version, but I'm not getting consistent results. As you can see the front does not match with the sides of the basket. I've created two meshes: one external and the other internal for the sides of the basket and I baked them by…
What was your process for making that? DId you bake normal maps? Did you breakdown how much time you spent on each part of the process? What is the intent of this model? Is it a background prop, or a hero asset that the camera would be really close to and it needs to look hyper realistic?
Cool. I was playing in Verold importing a project. I'm still extremely shy with my work. I learned how to sculpt in Zbrush before I realized how to texture. So I've been learning decimation, re-topology, laying UV's and creating maps. I have allot to learn but it's been over a year since school and I've got a bit of a…
