Normal maps aren't magic, they can't effect the silhouette of the object. You're trying to project the normals of a smoothed cube onto a harsh cube, but you're lowpoly simply doesn't have enough geometry to accurately follow the silhouette of the highpoly. Try beveling the edges down on the lowpoly.
Stertman: its called Grouce, its from the Zbrush homepage :] Okay, huge image coming up :P So..only sculpting cloth, tweaking and adding the gunholster left now on the highpoly. Cloth is coming along rather okay methinks, but still needs tweaking.
nice paintover vig, i think you nailed it! with these crits you should be able to make this door look awesome - the highpoly and lowpoly are already fine, and although the UV layout is a bit "fragmented" for my liking, I think with a good texture this will be an excellent portfolio piece.
Not a huge update, wall section WIP. Been kinda slow without a concept and really wish I had some concepting skills, or a concept artist friend, heh. I've just been noodling and this is all i came up with so far :P highpoly
So the last 3 weeks i have been working halftime on a highpoly for a sniper-rifle, based on my own concept. During the 3 coming weeks I will Texture it and possibly animate it. So I was thinking that I would give it some urban camouflage textures with a digital pattern. Any feedback is appreciated.
Hi Im trying to extract a normal map from a highpoly mesh i have made of a rock. I decreased polycount in meshlab to about 1000, then i unwrapped it in Roadkill. The normal map i get from xNormal is somewhat distorted, looks like a warp hole ^^... Anyways, here are some pictures.

Hello guys, I almost finished another weapon - Kriss Vector. Model was made in 3ds max and zbrush and textured in Substance Painter 2. What do you think about textures? Any form of critique is welcome as always :) I call this WIP because I still play with textures. Highpoly Lowpoly
This is going to be a character named Prophet. He's a comicbook character that Stephen Platt drew in the mid 90's. Im not going for quite as big of muscles as S.Platt did though. I hope to make this one a highpoly version to normal map. Still early but I thought I'd give a sneak peak. Comments and crits are appreciated as…
